Hear “The Power Of Food” author Adam Hart talk about how you can improve your performance in the workplace on The Dr. Theresa Nicassio Show.
About Adam Hart
Adam faced many challenges that he later realized were related to his relationship with food that is not that dissimilar from most North Americans.
While growing up, junk food was used as a reward for his good behaviour. As a teen, Adam was diagnosed with ADHD, then as an adult his health began to plummet with even greater rapidity. Managing a pizza chain while he earned his bachelor’s degree gave him unlimited access to as much pizza as he wanted to eat, leaving him with forty pounds of extra weight, low self-confidence and a host of other health problems.
Once graduating with a degree in Sociology and a diploma in International Business Management, the stresses of being a working professional only served to aggravate Adam’s situation. He soldiered on by medicating himself with candy bars and potato chips and began to suffer from depression, anxiety, food allergies and asthma.
The Wake-Up Call That Changed Everything
A life-changing doctor visit gave Adam the wake-up call he needed. At just twenty-six, he was diagnosed as pre-diabetic. This shocking diagnoses rocked him out of his food-induced coma. Rather than live on medication for the rest of his life, he decided it was time to take back control of his health.
Empowering Others
After years of being a burned-out, comfort food junkie, Adam completely and sustainably turned around his entire relationship with food and now helps thousands of struggling professionals in North America make empowered choices that give them energy, momentum and enthusiasm — for life.
