Alan Bell – VICTIM – SURVIVOR – ADVOCATE
The Dr. Theresa Nicassio Show
Hear best-selling author Alan Bell share his riveting story of being unknowingly poisoned by his office building and practical ways you can protect yourself and your kids from toxins in daily life.
About Alan Bell
Alan Bell, an ordinary man, thrown into an extraordinary fight, has devoted his life to helping victims who cannot fend for themselves. This former organized crime prosecutor almost died from an environmentally linked illness. He now devotes his life to giving a voice for those too weak or sick to fight for themselves and has become a global advocate fighting to ‘Save the Humans’.
Sick Building Syndrome
In the late 1980’s, Alan was living the American dream: Soon after he moved his law practice into a new, high-rise office building, ‘sick building syndrome’ caused him to become ill. One day he was healthy, athletic and strong; the next morning, he was too sick, dizzy and weak to get out of bed. His world subsequently imploded.
His health continued to worsen until he became so ill he was forced to stop working.
Multiple Chemical Sensitivity
Despite being examined and tested by numerous world-renowned doctors, none of them could help. Finally, a doctor diagnosed him with Multiple Chemical Sensitivity, a devastating illness caused by exposure to environmental toxins. The medical profession had no treatment to offer Alan.
“We are under the greatest environmental assault in the history of humanity. The saga of Alan Bell will break your heart but leave you hopeful. If you think you might be POISONED, you must read this book.”
Actress and Author of “TOX-SICK”
Finding Meaning in a Sterile “Bubble” by Helping Others
After relocating to an isolated, yet toxin-free home in the Arizona desert, Alan set out to bring meaning to his experience and help others. He founded the Environmental Health Foundation, organized a health summit at the Biosphere II, and convinced the National Institutes of Health to sponsor the event.
Alan plunged back into the legal arena to avenge innocent victims of environmental injury. He collaborated with members of the infamous Erin Brockovich law firm and relentlessly brought wrongdoers to justice who recklessly exposed victims to toxic substances. Environmentally ill people across America now contact Alan, seeking his guidance and legal expertise to help them regain their lives. “I can’t turn my back on these victims,” he explains. “When I look into their eyes, I see myself.”
Alan, an ordinary man, thrown into an extraordinary fight, has devoted his life to helping victims who cannot fend for themselves.
How a Crime-Busting Prosecutor Turned His Medical Mystery into a Crusade for Environmental Victims
After years of prosecuting hard-core criminals, rising legal star Alan Bell took a private sector job in South Florida’s newest skyscraper. Suddenly, he suffered such bizarre medical symptoms, doctors suspected he’d been poisoned by the Mafia. Bell’s rapidly declining health forced him to flee his glamorous Miami life to a sterile “bubble” in the remote Arizona desert.
As his career and marriage dissolved, Bell pursued medical treatments in a race against time, hoping to stay alive and raise his young daughter, his one desperate reason to keep going. He eventually discovered he wasn’t poisoned by a criminal, but by his office building. His search for a cure led him to discover the horrifying truth: his tragedy was just the tip of the iceberg. Millions of people fall ill and die each year because of toxic chemical exposures―without knowing they’re at risk.
Stunned by what he discovered, Bell chose to fight back, turning his plight into an opportunity. Despite his precarious health, he began collaborating with scientists dedicated to raising awareness about this issue. Soon, he also found himself drawn back into the legal field, teaming up with top lawyers fighting for those who had already fallen ill.
Both a riveting medical mystery and a cautionary tale, this book puts a human face on the hidden truths behind toxic dangers assaulting us in our everyday environments―and offers practical ways to protect ourselves and our children.
“A riveting read about a dynamic public health warrior.”
—Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.
“Our environment’s impact upon human health has become the Silent Epidemic of the 21st century. No one is immune to environmentally linked disease, regardless of social, financial or ethnic status. We all breathe air, eat food and drink water and are at risk in our homes, schools, workplaces and neighborhoods.”
